    Rebecca Anderson was one of nine children of William Anderson and Elizabeth Campbell of Augusta County, Virginia. Rebecca's first husband was Samuel Augustus Wallace of Rockbridge County, Virginia. Rebecca and Samuel had several children. After Samuel's death, Rebecca married James Grigsby of Orange County, Virginia in 1786. Rebecca and James had three children, Etchison, Samuel C., and John.
