Martin County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. As of 2000, the population is 10,369. The county seat is Shoals. On April 2, 2006, Martin County switched to the Central Time Zone. It returned to the Eastern Time Zone on November 4, 2007.

Martin County was formed in 1820. It was named for Maj. John T. Martin of Newport, Kentucky.
