Are "Alt" events excluded? [10 July 2021]

I wonder if "Alt-Birth" and "Alt-Christening" events are excluded from triggering inclusion on this report? For example, look at Person:Helga Nørstebøn (1). There are two "Other" events before birth with "Alt Birth" in description. If "Other" was changed to "Alt-Birth"; would this person page be excluded from the report? But then Person:Rose Hebrank (1) probably should still be on report. No easy answers here.--fbax.ca 22:34, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

Alt events are excluded from the check, but only if the event type is "Alt ...". If it is "Other", it is still considered to be an event before birth. This can be fixed, as you note, by correcting the event type.--DataAnalyst 21:15, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
I changed Other-AltBirth to AltBirth for several persons. On a few; I happened to notice that "extra" changes were made automatically. For example, Person:Bertha Schlumpf (1); several sources and notes have been deleted (by system, not me). Why is that? --fbax.ca 22:15, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Hi. WeRelate automatically combines identical sources (they have to be exactly the same). However, it didn't do this at the beginning, so a page that was created before this feature was added might have identical sources. When you save a page, the edit is run and the identical sources are combined. (Note that a second edit and save might do even more combining due to identical notes that were combined in the first edit/save.)
Also, I note that Bertha had one alt birth year 19 years before her actual birth year. This suggests either a typo or the conflation of 2 different people - which is exactly the type of problem we are trying to identify and solve. So just changing "Other" to "Alt Birth" doesn't really solve the problem, as it leads the viewer to believe that we don't know if she was born about 1872 or in 1891. In this case, the 1872 date clearly doesn't belong to her and there is no point in keeping it. I deleted both it and the census record used as a source (since the links are both broken anyway) - there is another 1920 census source used to support a birth year of about 1892. She also has 2 residences in 1920 - one citing the census record saying she was born about 1872 - so I deleted that residence as well assuming the census record belongs to a different person. This is a truly ugly page and I didn't take the time to completely clean it up, but at least it only represents one person now.--DataAnalyst 23:59, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
I should also note that a hint that the page conflated 2 people is that OneWorldTree is cited. OneWorldTree (which doesn't exist any more) tried to automatically identify and combine records for the same person and made a HUGE mess out of many family trees. It is a big red flag that if you spot something that doesn't look right, it probably isn't.--DataAnalyst 00:02, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
I've cleaned the page up now, including correcting her birth year based on sources.--DataAnalyst 16:24, 10 July 2021 (UTC)
