Care needs to be taken with records, as Abraham had both an uncle and cousin named Abraham V living in Bloom township. That this Abraham (the husband of Catharine Snider) is the son of John and Elizabeth is asserted by Wiseman.

Curiously, while both the 1850 census and the 1852 probate record puts his residence as Bloom township, all of the property mentioned in his will was in Hancock County. Indeed, there is no mention of a home or furnishings.

In the photo, the gravestone is heavily lichen-encrusted, so it is easy to see how the initial "C" could be mistaken for an "O." It is impossible to tell from the photo if the gravestone has a death date; it is barely possible to make out "Aged 49 Yr" near the bottom.

The text on the memorial claims birth and death dates of 18 Jun 1803 and 10 Dec 1852; these are presumably derived from some other (unstated) source.

  6. Date range from the will and probate dates. There are claims of a specific date, but I have not seen a credible source for it.
