Person pages are specially formatted wiki pages that are designed to contain historical information about a deceased person.

Features

  • Share information with your relatives about your ancestors.
  • Automatically create pages for all your known ancestors by uploading a GEDCOM file.
  • Collaborate with others on the same webpage to completely document a person's life.
  • Include dates, places, life histories, diary transcripts, images, and source documents--pretty much anything you want!
  • Link individuals to their parental and spousal families through family pages.
  • Automatically generate pedigree charts and pedi-maps.


Getting started

You don't have to be a computer whiz to make these pages--if you can type with one or more fingers, you can create a person page.

  1. Click on the blue Family Tree box at the top of the screen.
  2. Under "Create a person page", enter your ancestor's first or given name and last or surname into the appropriate fields.
  3. Fill in the information you know and click on "Save page" at the bottom of the page.


or if you are familiar with Family Tree Explorer:

  1. Click on the blue Family Tree box at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on the Launch FTE box.
  3. Once the FTE is loaded, click on Add in the main menu at the top of the screen. Select New Person.
  4. Enter the first or given name and last or surname of your ancestor into the appropriate fields. Click "Add".
  5. Fill in the information you know and click on "Save page" at the bottom of the page.
