Home of Col William Edmiston, Washington County, Virginia See: talk page for a location map.

The Photo was taken 17 Jun 1999 by my Cousin it was restored according to my cousin Art Wills who is standing with Dr John Ashworth in front of the log Cabin.

Dr Ashworth has restored the log cabin home of Colonel William Edmiston (1736-1822)Revolutionary War Hero at the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780.

Dr Ashworth dismantled the cabin and moved it to his home in Emory, Virginia, where he reassembled and restored it to its original shape. It is shown here as the middle section of what is now three cabins made into a restored home complete with kitchen and bathroom...--Dlbradley1 10:19, 18 February 2009 (EST)

The photo shows it to be composed of three more or less identical units, arranged in a line. The central unit was the original cabin, perhaps dating to 1770 when the family moved to the area. The left and right unit are additions, made at the time the cabin was moved to Emory Va, and converted into a home.--Dlbradley1 19:30, 6 March 2009 (EST)

It may be useful to compare this photograph with one for the historic Kilgore's Fort House near Nickelsville.
