- ↑ Source:Mayflower Descendant, p. 6:202, "Eastham and Orleans, Mass., Vital Records" records the birth of "Elizebeth ffreeman the daughter of Samuel and Bashua ffreeman was borne the nineteenth day of april in ye year 1694" so married before 1694. Existence of marriage confirmed settlement of Samuel Smith's father's estate in 1697, which mentions "Bathshua ffreeman Alias Smith She that was ye widow of Samuel Smith Eldest son of ye s'd mr Samuel Smith deceased" (see Source:MD, p. 12:116) and by receipt dated 3 Jul 1714 from Samuel Smith, son of Samuel Smith, Jr., and Bathsheba Lathrop, to "My Hon'rd father Samuel Freeman My gaurdian [sic]" for his portion of "my Hon'd father Samuel Smiths Deceased Estate" (ibid, pg. 12:115). Source:Freeman, Robert R. Freeman Families of New England, in the 17Th and 18Th Centuries gives the date 26 May 1693, but there appears to be no source indicated for it, nor could one be found. Besides the birth referred to above, which suggests they had married before Aug 1693 to be 9 months, the probate documents in Source:MD show she was still "Bathsua Smith vid Relict of Samuel Smith Ju'r" on 1 Apr 1693, so sometime between those dates.
