Know all by these presents that we Jonathan Hughes and William Jackson
of Wilkes County North Carolina are held and firmly Bound unto Richard
Caswell Esquire Governor of said State ?? in the full sum of five
hundred pounds Subject to Liquidation to be paid to the said Richard
Caswell Esq. Governor & his Successors or Assigns to which pay-
ment well and Truly to be made we Bind ourselves, Our Heirs
Executors and Administrators, Jointly and Severally firmly by
these presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated ?? 11 July 1786
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas
the above Bond Jonathan Hughes hath made application
for a marriage license to be granted between him the said
Jonathan Hughes and Abigail Jackson; now if there is no
impediment, it the said marriage be in every Respect Law-
ful, then the above Obligation to be Void Otherwise to re-
main in full force & virtue.
