Valda" suggests she was born Anna Skold Vajda, but she was living with the Swedish Skold family in 1930, which included a son married the same year as her, andsuggests she married into the Skold family. What happened? Scenario #1: She was born out of wedlock to Stephen Vajda and Ellen Skold. Ellen lived with her children (including Anna) in 1930 without a husband in Bergen County, New Jersey. Scenario #2: She is the daughter of Stephen and Anna Vajda and married Fredrick A. Skold, who according to the 1930 US Census, was married in the same year as Anna. Although the census lists them as siblings, it lists Fredrick's parents as being born in Sweden and Anna's parents as being born in "C US." Kim Vajda believes she was a sister of SJVI.
