Went to be with His Lord on Monday, October 31st, 1988, Mr. Cornelius E. (Casey) de Jager, at the age of 54 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Florence de Jager of Lethbridge, Alberta.
Born in The Netherlands on Apr 8th, 1934 the late Mr. Casey de Jager attended school in Holland and at the age of 17 years he immigrated to Canada. Casey settled in the Lethbridge area and worked a several jobs in Southern Alberta before starting work at Capitol Furniture in 1956. That same year he married Florence Bosch on April 27th. Casey later purchased Capitol Furniture in 1984 and operated the business with his son, Tom, until the time of his passing.
Casey was an active member of Maranatha Christian Reformed Church. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Picture Butte Golf Club.
Besides his loving wife, Florence Casey is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs. Taeke and Thea de Jager of Lethbridge; two sons; three daughters, of Lethbridge; seven grandchildren; seven sisters, Audrey (Mient) Visser of Lethbridge, Griet (Siebe) deVries of Holland, Henrietta (Jack) Schenk of Calgary, Hilda (Bill) Korver of Coaldale, Willy (Louis) Dykslag of Lelhbridge, Ali (Dan) Berry of Edmonton, Coby (Herman) Kleissen of Coaldale seven brothers, Art de Jager of Coaldale, Louis (Grace) de Jager of Coaldale, Gary (Sybil) de Jager of Burnaby, B.C., Foeke (Gerry) de Jager of Holland, Jerry (Shirley) de Jager of Coaldale, Bill (Sena) de Jager of Lethbridge and Julius (Joanne) de Jager of Fruitland Ontario.
Casey was predeceased by his mother, Jeltje.
