Based on his obituary that he moved to Coffee County in 1863 with his mother, and similar migration of other Morrow families, it appears likely that George is the 12 year old in the 1860 household of John T. Morrow in Covington Co, AL: John T. Morrow 26 SC; Jane C. 20; Cynthia M. 30? 50?; William 15; George W. 12; Louisa 35 SC (p. 470, 9/10)

A descendant of George's son Andrew tested YDNA and it does not match any other participant in the project. In particular, it does not match descendants of John T. above--which would be true if Louisa were John's sister and Morrow her maiden name.

George is purportedly born in Marion Co, GA, where James R. Morrow, another purported brother of John, married in 1853.
