Facts and Events
The Way Family Tree book says: "Hiram and his wife and family moved to Tennessee shortly after the Civil War and bought several hundred acres of land near Telford, Tennessee. Hiram farmed and established a tannery there. He also sold feed and grain. Through the years, parcels of land were sold until about 150 acres remained in the farm. Several acres were donated to establish the Methodist Church and cemetery. Both Hiram and his wife and two daughters (Alice and Harriet) are buried in this cemetery". Jonesboro Herald-Tribune Obituaries, Vol. XXVII. #7 Wed., June 12, 1895: "Hiram Way, one of Telford's oldest and most respectful citizens, died last Friday morning and he was buried last Saturday."
