The large family living together in 1841 and 1851 had shrunk to one son (Jonas), one daughter (Ann) and an illegitimate grandchild in the house by 1861, but three of the older sons (Ben, Moses and William) were living in dwellings adjacent to their parents.
There were a number of baptisms for John Hinchliffe in the 1790s decade. The one produced above was the closest to Holme where John appeared to live all his life.
