Disposition of Land from Chalkley's:
- Page 114.--19th November, 1766. John Pearey (Peerie) and Sarah to his brother James Pearey, £30, 150 acres in Beverley Manor, part of 375 acres first made over to Thomas Pearey, deceased (father of John), by deed, 1749, on a branch of Middle River of Shanandore.
- Page 325.--17th August, 1774. John Kirkpatrick and Martha ( ), of Augusta, and John Peerie and Sarah ( ) of Botetourt, to Robert Hanna.

There were two men named John Peery. One John (The Distiller) married Sarah Jameson the other (John, The Silversmith) married Deborah Kidd.
John was designated as "The Distiller" to distinguish him from his son, John, known as "The Silversmith". John and his brother William, served in the Revolution, and was in the battle of Alamance, and probably Gilford. He received 54 sabre cuts in the battle, but survived, because his brother, William, just a boy serving as a cook, found him in the briars after the battle, brought him back to camp and nursed him. There were two men named John Peery who fought in the Revolution. One applied in 1812 while living in Cabell County, Virginia for a state pension from VA. [1] He was 74 years old thus born about 1738. He declared his Revolutionary War service was under Capt. James Moore at the Alamance and he was wounded numerous times. He had no wife or family at the time he applied for the pension. The second John Peery (The Silversmith) was born 1762 and died 5 March 1844. His wife was Deborah Kidd and she was the one who applied 1845 for a pension while living in Tazewell County, Virginia. Details of her husband's service are not given. [2]
John & Sarah had another son, David, but have no information on him, other than he is listed as their third child on pg 507 of the Annals of Tazewell Co, VA, families section.
