Lanoux, Joseph Burris
A retired electrician and native and resident of Gonzales, he died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1997, at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. He was 98. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, Gonzales, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Phil Spano. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Margie and Knox Braud, Gonzales; a stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, J. D. and Francis "Boo" Hamilton, Baton Rouge; three stepgrandchildren, Gwen Seeser, Alexandria, Jeanne Sauceman, Greenville, Tenn., and Wilfred Braud Jr., Dayton, Texas; eight stepgreat-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents Henry and Alice Gautreau Lanoux; wife Jeanne Hamilton Lanoux; two brothers, Forrest and Robert Lanoux; and a stepson, Roy Hamilton. He was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales.
