Dear Jim --

Thanks for the info.

I have just started researching this line, so I have not really verified any info. But, for some info on Margaret Smith (wife of Jacob Gabbard Sr.), see Bryan Gabbard's FTM page on "Ancestors of Floyd Eugene Gabbard". Margaret is listed as 65 in Genereation No 7. Bryan says margaret's DOB is 1772 in Carter Co, TN, d. 1830 Laurel or Madison Co, KY.

Happy New Year Mick

Hi James,

I am a descendant of Edward Smith, through his daughter Margaret that married Jacob Gabbard. I would be very interested in how you determined that his 2nd wife, and possibly Margaret's mother, was Agnes Catharina Stonecipher [prob Steinseifer in German].

I would be happy to share what I have on Margaret & Jacob Gabbard's family.

this date and place of birth are questionable, if her date of marriage is 1785, she would have been 13 at her marriage, and it is undetermined whether Edward Smith was in Carter County, TN as early as 1785.
