Stansell, son of Nicholas & Margaret Featterly/Featherly Stansell. b. 26 Oct 1784 German Flats, Herkimer Co., NY; baptised 16 Nov 1784 Fort Herkimer Reformed Church, German Flats, Herkimer Co., NY; baptismal sponsors _ Johannes Fedderlie & his wife Maria [these were his maternal aunt & uncle_ I believe]. According to the "History of Wayne County, NY - Town of Lyons" by Geo W Combs c. 1895, Nicholas J. Stansell died 8 June 1844 in a logging accident at the family business - a Saw mill- skimmimg logs in Wolcott Township, Wayne County, New York."
