Pleasant Hodgen is the son of Wm. Hodgen & Mary Magdalene "Leany" (Smith) Hodgen. He married Attarah Jane Thurman on Nov. 4, 1853 and they had 10 children: Lydia Ann, Josiah, Maria & Rebecca (twins), Albert, James, Charles, Mary, Newton & Frank. Pleasant died at his home near Antioch on their farm. His wife Attarah died Dec. 8, 1891.
