Father John is said to have immigrated to Plymouth in 1628, but there are no records of him there or anywhere prior to 1634 (he does not appear in Great Migration). Samuel may thus have been born in England. The family was in Windsor by about 1640. Samuel was admitted to the Windsor Church after 22 Apr 1672.[6]

Additional sons Josiah and Joseph sometimes listed but births are not found in Windsor records. If either named son had existed, he died prior to the making of their father's will 2 August 1697.
