Facts and Events
Thomas Walker Jr. then of Sudbury, Massachusetts bought in 1688 of Gookin & Howe (his father-in-law), 60 acres on both sides of the road to Sherborn, bounded by John Adams & John Bent, and built a house at Rices' End, thereby becoming a founder of Framingham, Ma. The Daniel Gookin & Samuel Howe tract consisted of about 1700 acres of land obtained from the Natick Indians, who gave deed of it dated 19 May 1682. Thomas Jr. was held in great respect in Framingham where he was the Town Treasurer in 1700 and constable in 1703. His will was proved December 2, 1717 showing ownerhip of land in Billerica and Wells Massachusetts.
