Beverley St. Mary was one of the ecclesiastical parishes of the Borough (or city) of Beverley. It covered the northwestern sector of the city. (Source: Ordnance Survey Map of Yorkshire of 1900) Between 1866 and 1936 St. Mary was also a civil parish. The parish was recorded in the civil registrations and censuses made in the area. In 1936 the episcopal/civil parishes of Beverley were merged into the Municipal Borough of Beverley. A quotation from a gazetteer found in GENUKI is worth noting for St. Mary parish as well as St. Nicholas. No precise source or date is given, but probably 19th century.
The co-ordinates given are based on those for the present-day Church of St. Mary found on Google Earth. [edit] Research Tips(This data also from GENUKI)
