This Ordnance Survey map of 1900 from A Vision of Britain through Time locates all the original rural districts established in Wiltshire in 1894. In 1934 there were a number of mergers of neighbouring districts.

Bramshaw Rural District was located on both sides of the border of Hampshire and Wiltshire, to the southeast of Salisbury Rural District. The part in Wiltshire only contained the parish of East Bramshaw. East Bramshaw was absorbed into the Hampshire parish of Bramshaw in 1895.
