Broome is a village and and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated on the north bank of the River Waveney, which forms the border with Suffolk, some 2 km north of the town of Bungay and 20 km southeast of the city of Norwich.
The civil parish has an area of 5.91 km2 and in the 2001 UK census had a population of 475 in 190 households, reducing to 458 at the 2011 UK census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the District of South Norfolk.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Broome from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1871-72:
- "BROOME, or Brome, a parish in Loddon [registration] district, Norfolk; near the Waveney river and the Waveney Valley railway, 2 miles NNE of Bungay. Post Town: Bungay. Acres: 1,442. Real property: £3,011. Population: 505. Houses: 124. The property is divided among a few. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich. Value: £286. Patron: Sir W. F. F. Middleton, Bart. The church is good; and there are charities £68."
