Broughton is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-west of Malton. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 233.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Broughton was located in Malton Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ecclesiastical parish of Appleton le Street in the Rydale Wapentake.
