A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Egleton from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"EGGLETON, a township in Bishops-Frome parish, Herefordshire; near the river Frome, 9¼ miles ENE of Hereford. Acres: 630. Real property: £984. Population: 164. Houses: 31."
