Grosmont Fawr was formed in the Abergavenny Rural District of Monmouthshire, Wales in 1935 as part of a measure to reduce the number of civil parishes within the rural district. It absorbed the former parishes of Grosmont, Llangua, Llanvihangel Crucorney, Llanwytherin and Llangattock Llingoed.
