Hemyock Hundred was located on the Devon border with Somerset. Most, if not all, of its parishes are now situated in the Mid Devon District. The hundred is #17 on the map.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Hemyock Hundred from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1871-72:
- "HEMYOCK--popularly HEMMICK--a village, a parish, and a hundred in Devon....The hundred contains seven parishes. Acres: 22,288. Population: 5,225. Houses: 1,112."
GENUKI provides a longer description from White's History, Gazetteer, and Directory of Devonshire of 1850.
