Kelvingrove was the name of a suburb of Glasgow which was absorbed into the city in 1846. It was located west of the city centre along the banks of the River Kelvin which flows south into the Clyde. It was always an affluent area housing the owners of factories and heavy industrial works. The co-rdinates given are those for the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which is located on the south side of Kelvingrove Park.
