Moortown is a suburb of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is a civil parish and electoral ward in the northeast of the city.

It is situated between Roundhay and Gledhow on the east and Weetwood on the west, with Chapel Allerton to the south, and Alwoodley to the north. It is synonymous with Moor Allerton, and institutions in the area use both names.

History

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Moortown or Moor Allerton from John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles of 1887:

"Moor Allerton, [ecclesiastical district], Harewood, Leeds, and Thorner [parishes], [East Division] West-Riding Yorkshire, near Chapel Allerton, pop. 1,371."
