The civil parish of Nettleden with Potten End was created in 1937 from parts of the parishes of Berkhamsted and Northchurch in Hertfordshire, England and the hamlet of Nettleden which had been a parish since 1895. Although in Hertfordshire, Nettleden had originally been part of Pitstone parish in Buckinghamshire.
