Newchurch West was until 1881 a division of the parish of Newchurch. In that year it became a civil parish and in 1894 became a part of Chepstow Rural District. In 1935 it was abolished and replaced by the civil parish of Shirenewton which also covered other parishes in the northern part of the rural district. Newchurch West was quite rural and did not contain any significant settlements. [edit] Research tips |
