A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Roggiett from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "ROGGIETT, a parish in Chepstow [registration] district, Monmouth[shire]; on the South Wales railway and on the coast, 2¼ miles E by N of Magor [railway] station, and 6½ S W by W of Chepstow. Post-town: Chepstow. Acres: 2,905; of which 2,355 are foreshore. Real property, with Ifton: £3,058. Population of Rogiett alone: 36. Houses: 7. The property is subdivided. The living is a rectory, united with the rectories of Ifton and Llanvihangel, in the diocese of Llandaff. Value: £390. Patron: Lord Tredegar. The church is good."
In 1894 Roggiett civil parish became part of the Chepstow Rural District. In 1935, in a move to reduce the number of parishes within Chepstow Rural District, Roggiett was merged with the neighbouring parish of Place:Ifton, Monmouthshire, Wales and the larger parish was renamed Rogiet.
For its later history, see the separate article on Rogiet.
