St. Winnow (Cornish: Sen Gwynnek) is a civil parish situated in Cornwall, England. Its name may be connected with either that of Saint Winnoc or Saint Winwaloe. It had a population of 304 in the UK census of 2001. The parish also includes the hamlet of St. Nighton.
The church town is on the east bank of the River Fowey south of Lostwithiel. Part of the village of Lerrin (see the neighbouring parish of St. Veep) lies within the parish and also the chapelry of St. Nectan.
From 1894 until 1934 St. Winnow was part of the Bodmin Rural District which was abolished in 1934. In 1934 it was split with part being absorbed by Lostwithiel Municipal Borough and the remainder transferred to the Liskeard Rural District.
Research Tips
One of the many maps available on A Vision of Britain through Time is one from the Ordnance Survey Series of 1900 illustrating the parish boundaries of Cornwall at the turn of the 20th century. This map blows up to show all the parishes and many of the small villages and hamlets.

- FamilySearch Wiki provides a similar information service to GENUKI which may be more up-to-date.
- A Vision of Britain through Time has
- organization charts of the hierarchies of parishes within hundreds, registration districts and rural and urban districts of the 20th century
- excerpts from a gazetteer of circa 1870 outlining individual towns and parishes
- reviews of population through the time period 1800-1960
