A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Talsarnau from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"TALSARNAU, or Talysarnau, a hamlet in the N W of Merioneth; on the Welsh Coast railway, 3½ miles N by E of Harlech. It has a station on the railway, and a post-office under Carnarvon."

Talsarnau or Talsamau is a village and community formerly in the Meirionnydd District of Gwynedd in Wales. Its population of 525 in the UK census of 2001, increased to 550 at the 2011 census. Prior to 1974 it was in the historic county of Merionethshire.

The village of Talsarnau is situated on the A496 coastal road between Maentwrog and Harlech, close to the hamlets of Eisingrug and Llandecwyn.
