Working at WeRelate [28 July 2022]

Hi Khwaja -
I notice that you have not added any pages for any of your ancestors yet. Can you explain a little more about what you would like to do here? I'll see if I can help you. Regards, --cos1776 19:00, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

I want to create article on Barelvi here. But unable to add sources from Google books there.--Khwaja 19:01, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

This is a genealogy site for people to create pages for their ancestors or for presenting research on family histories. Was your article going to tie into your ancestors or other families on this site? I am trying to understand why you would like to create the article on this specific site. --cos1776 19:17, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
I think Khwaja is trying to cite a google book. Khwaja, if that's true, a standard citation is fine:
Author, Title of Book, Where Published: Name of Publisher (year), ["insert URL of google book here without the quotation marks" page xx].

This thread is a continuation of a conversation started on another page. I apologize for not making that clear for readers of this page. Khwaja's first question was about importing Wikipedia articles [1], followed by a post [2], which I assumed was a trial run. I think the best way to help is to understand what the goal is. --cos1776 15:36, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

But unfortunately Jillaine I am unable to cite. It is saying links to other websites are not allowed.--Khwaja 11:08, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

You can cite a book found on Google in different ways, depending on where you are posting the citation. If you can give us a link to the page you are trying to work on, we can see if we can help. --cos1776 15:36, 27 July 2022 (UTC)

Ok, I think I understand now. The article page "Barelvi" is shown in red, because it does not yet exist. To create the page, go to it and open it by selecting Edit (left menu). An editing box will open into which you can add text and citations in the format listed above. To close and save your changes, select Save page at the bottom (just like editing this page). Do you know which Person pages you would like to link your article to yet? Let me know when you do, and I'll show you how to do that. --cos1776 19:41, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
