WeRelate:Suggestions/Inactive user autotag

Occasionally in the course of tree cleanups, I run into the talk pages of users who haven't been active in many years. It seems it would be a good idea for users to get tagged as 'inactive', and a notice appearing on their userpage and talk page after a certain amount of inactivity, just to alert people who may try to get ahold of them through their talk pages that there is not much chance of getting reply. • I do think this is a good idea. Being inactive for a year is not uncommon ... sometimes people only have time to spend on their hobby during an annual holiday. Being inactive for 18 months or more, that suggests a broader loss of interest or ability. It would be interesting to do a survey of the revisitation habits of users; that would be a publishable piece of research, I think. --ceyockey 23:48, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
