Frances Ellen Hare died just 39 days short of her 105th birthday. She was the widow of the Rev Joseph Hare, who died in 1880 in Ohio. She was a member of the Davenport family of Virginia. Her father, Judge Davenport, occupied the Supreme Court bench of that state for several years and represented his district in Congress three successive terms.
