    U.S. Congressman. Born near Winchester, Virginia, he moved to Ohio, in 1818 and engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives, (1824, 1827) and a member of the Ohio State Senate, (1825-26). In 1827, he was elected as an Adams candidate to the Twentieth Congress, serving until 1829. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was again a member of the Ohio State House of Representatives, in 1830 and served as a as judge of the Monroe County Judicial Circuit. He died at age 67 in Woodsfield, Ohio.
