Jim,

I note your thread in which you mention the Charles and Phoebe family.

I am tracing the Levi? and Rebecca? that you mention.

I find that several of the names in this family were also listed in Rev. War Veterans list for Luddington Regiment, NY:

Charles, drummer Mead Co, Luddington Regt Ebrr, Private same Elijah, Adjutant Luddington Gilbert, Private Knapp Co, Luddington... Levi, Private, Hecock Co, Field Regt Levy, Corporal, Mead Co, Luddington (Levy has been mentioned several times as son of Levi in other places) Zephaniah, Private, Mead Co, Luddington

My interest in all of these men, except Eber, is that they show up in the Wilkesbarre, PA area after the war. They are well-documented in the Census, and, I think maybe in the Susquehanna Co Papers.

Rebecca? has been mentioned as Rebecca Jones, whom I think is the dau of Benjamin Jones and Jemima Delivan. A Benj Jones was also a Private in the Delivan Co, Drake Regiment of NY.

My guess is that all of these persons, along with several other names I recognize, got land warrants for their service and moved to the Luzerne Co, (Wilkesbarre) area after the war.

In any event, I would be interested in finding out if you have any more information on any of these Townsends. I have some of their descendants from Levi into Illinois.

Eber, whom I am not interested, moved to Ohio, and there was quite a bit of information about him on the site.

Thanks, David Jones
