Ruth Ailene WELLS

was born on 26 Jan 1903 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana.  Circa 1921 at Indiana Ruth Ailene Wells married Delmer Revere Baer (in the 1930 census they report the bride was 19 and the groom was 21).  She died on 27 Jan 1994 at Indiana at age 91.

    She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Elmer Ellsworth Wells and Lydia A Wells, she was age 7.  She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Elmer Ellsworth Wells and Lydia A Wells, she was age 16.  

    Ruth Ailene Baer and Delmer Revere Baer appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana, at 611 Lincoln Avenue W, enumerated 2 Apr 1930, renting their home for $35. They have two children, Betty and Ilene.  She was described as being the most chubby (heavy set) of all her siblings.

    Delmer Revere BAER was born on 15 Oct 1900.  He died on 8 Aug 1976 at age 75.  He was also known as Revere. 

In 1930 Delmer's occupation was as a foreman at a plating factory at Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana.

    The three known children of Ruth Ailene Wells and Delmer Revere Baer were as follows:

• 2 i. Betty R. BAER was born in 1922 at Indiana.

    She and Ilene M. Baer had a photo taken circa 1927.  

Betty R. Baer appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Delmer Revere Baer and Ruth Ailene Baer, she was age 7.

• 3 ii. Ilene M. BAER was born in 1924 at Indiana. Ilene M. Baer married Ray Michaels.

    She and Betty R. Baer had a photo taken circa 1927.  

Ilene M. Baer appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana in the household of her parents Delmer Revere Baer and Ruth Ailene Baer, she was age 5.

• 4 iii. Larry R BAER was born on 3 Mar 1935 at South Bend, St. Joseph Co., Indiana. After 1955 Larry R Baer married wife of Larry Freese. He died on 1 Jun 1971 at Marshall Co., Indiana, at age 36.
