  5.   Caroline HORSFALL b.17th May 1867 - d.21st April 1955 at Shireburn near Clitheroe aged 88,
on the 14th September 1887 at ? she married Newstead GARNETT b.18th April 1865 - d.25th May 1955 aged 90 at Shireburn near Clitheroe.
Caroline HORSFALL is the seventh child of Alfred HORSFALL and Rebecca POSTLEWAITE.
(Alfred Horsfall, Jeremiah Horsfall, Sarah Garnett, Jeremiah Garnett)
Newstead was the son of James GARNETT and Emma NEWSTEAD of Waddow Hall, Clitheroe.
(James Garnett, Thomas Garnett, William Garnett, Jeremiah Garnett)
Newstead is a 2nd cousin of Caroline’s and Jeremiah GARNETT is their common Ancestor.
Waddow Hall was lived in by the TOMLIN'S and HORSFALL'S prior to the GARNETT'S. Waddow Hall is now the U.K. Headquarters of the Girl Guides.
Caroline and Newstead lived at Shireburn Park, Clitheroe.
Elwy HORSFALL said that Newstead was a “dear” and she never saw him angry but Caroline was quite quarrelsome and there was a feud between her and her sister-in-law Cissie Horsfall and the rest of the family at Waddow Hall.
Elwy also said that Shireburn was covered in Ivy when they lived there and had not realized that it was red brick
In 1917 when Alfred HORSFALL died Newstead was a Cotton Spinner and one of the executors of Alfred's will.
Newstead died just 34 days after Caroline and his will was probated in 1955 at Lancaster with grant of probate to James Newstead GARNETT [a cotton manufacturer] and Alfred Miles GARNETT [retired lieut. col, army].
